Background

To support an in-house team member transitioning out of the organization, The Climate Initiative contracted with Civic Link Founder Lenny Zaleski to create a comprehensive social media strategy, pinpoint grant opportunities, and develop fundraising communications for upcoming giving campaigns.

About the Partner

The Climate Initiative provides young climate champions education and engagement tools to steward our planet and catalyze the transition to climate-resilient communities. Through community-based education and empowerment initiatives, youth learn about local climate problems and possible solutions, giving them hope and the inspiration to become change agents in their communities and beyond.

Partner Goals

  • Increase reach on social media by 4%; increase engagement on social media by 3%

  • Develop grant research for potential grant appeals

  • Steward $2,000 or more in individual donations

  • Our responsibilities:

    • Develop a social media strategy focused on monthly themes

    • Research grant making institutions in the climate space

    • Coordinate donor campaigns to fundraise

To conduct the best social media practices for the organization, Civic Link organized content into flows, including:

Through these pillars, the content was created using Canva and scheduled through Later.

To utilize the social media growth, we also sent out donor requests from the new LinkedIn followers, targeting environmentally conscious professionals with disposable income to give.
